DEQ Composting Rules

If you annually compost more than 100 tons of manure (about 125 cubic yards) or other materials, or 20 tons of animal mortality, you must submit information about your site and operation to Oregon’s Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) to determine whether there is a risk to humans or the environment.  DEQ may require you to develop an Operations Plan.
